Apple has released a new iOS 12 build for customers using older models of iPhones, iPads, and even iPods. The software update comes with a fix for a security vulnerability that could have allowed the website to run malicious programs on the device. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

According to Apple, a vulnerability in iOS 12 could lead to ‘processing maliciously crafted web content’ that could ’cause arbitrary code execution.’ This means that a bug in iOS 12 could allow a website to run an unknown malicious program on an affected Apple device. The support document shared by Apple states that the company is “aware of a report that this issue may be actively exploited.”
The latest update named iOS 12.5.6 brings build number 16H71 and addresses this issue with better bounds checking. Hence, it is advised for the affected users to update their devices.
